What is pH?

pH is a scale from 0 to 14 that measures how acidic or basic a liquid is. It stands for "power of Hydrogen" — it tells us the concentration of hydrogen ions (H⁺) in a solution.

The formula:

pH = −log₁₀[H⁺]

That means:

Fun fact: Your stomach acid has a pH of about 1.5–3.5 — strong enough to dissolve metal!
